Winter Sky in Blakeney

It was a busy day, starting with a fascinating and most amusing talk by David Reeve, who was in charge of security and protection for the Royal Family at Sandringham for 12 years.  The event was held in Blakeney village hall and it was a full house.
As we were in Blakeney we donned our warmest walking gear and boots and headed off along the raised path through the marshes.  It was interesting to see that despite the fact that the storm surge last Friday/Saturday was played down in the news, there was evidence that reeds and debris had pushed their way over the harbour wall and into the road beyond.  You’ll see in the extra, a photo of B. standing in front of the pile of debris that had been scooped up recently;  the coast road further along at Cley was still closed to traffic.  It was a lovely walk with interesting skies but bitterly cold, we were numb-fingered and almost unable to speak (believe it or not!) by the time we got back to the car.
Than it was back home for lunch and some gloss painting, dinner and then out to the North Norfolk Photographic Society for a Digital Image competition.  I don’t wish to blow my own trumpet, (so to speak), but I was delighted to come first in the Novice section with the photo used in a previous blip as below:
