Grey skies and Wild Winds

After the brilliant blue skies of yesterday, today was quite a contrast, heavy grey skies, warm, wild, wind and the feeling that rain was imminent! Took a hike with a couple of my women friends, I had felt a bit uninspired but once out it was lovely. The heathers are wonderful this year and are flowering in profusion. In places it was muddy underfoot, we have had so much rain but today it stayed dry. We just happened to finish our walk at the Heron gallery, so a pot of tea and some cake were very welcome!
This evening there was live music at our local pub in Ahakista, it was a lively session and a full house, although this really is the last weekend of the summer holidays, so most visitors will be heading home!
Oh and this is me, looking a bit windswept!
