SKILL OR TALENT?

I read that drawing is not a talent, but a skill that can be learned by perseverance.  Do you think that is true?  What is true is that I have not a modicum of talent, so perseverance it will have to be. In a moment of ambitious folly I signed up for an art class starting in two weeks, so am now nervously sharpening my pencils and cross hatching at every opportunity.
