Zamboni

For those who have never watched a hockey game, this will be meaningless. It's the machine that resurfaces the ice before and between periods of the game, by washing, shaving, and re-watering the ice. Zamboni is a brand name, but I've never heard of any other brand.

Evidently, like old hockey players, they are also put out to pasture.
