The souk, Agadir

No journey to Agadir is complete without a visit to the souk.

It is a riot of colours and smells and bustling shoppers, especially on a Saturday.

I could offer you the traditional photo of mounds of spices of every type with fiery, red harissa tumbling down like lava flowing down a mountainside.
Or barrels of olives of every colour and flavour.

But this time, it was the vegetable stalls that impressed me most, with their colour and neatness and vendors barking out their special offers in guttural Berber, or Arabic.

In the Extra, a mountain of silverware; teapots, trays, and tagines, glittering in the shadows of the market.
