Moving Into The Unknown

J.P.

Today I met J.P. in Portland.  He's a Vietnam era veteran who lives in subsidized government housing that includes a hot plate, but no real cook stove.  He told me he that once his rent is paid he has little left for monthly food bills.  I asked J.P. what he thought about the huge peace march that was taking place.  "About the President?" he asked.  "Pretty sure there won't be anything for me," he said.  Sadly, I think he's right.  Our politicians don't seem to have basic human welfare on their minds very much.

Extras are from the march today.
