Ipoh

After six weeks in Georgetown, I finally left on a bus to Ipoh, a city about half way between Penang and Kuala Lumpur. Like Melaka and Penang, it has lots of amazing colonial architecture and is famous for its food.

The bus dropped me off about 30 minutes outside of the city even though I'd been told it was a ticket all the way to Ipoh. This kind of thing happens quite a lot but it's still frustrating. I had to wait an hour for another bus to take me the rest of the way.

I checked in to my hotel and walked around the centre of the city. One of the famous items in Ipoh is the soya bean desserts and drinks. The desserts are identical to 'tau hu' in Vietnam and just as cheap.
