The West Coast

We headed west today, crossing the islands rugged interior, the descent really tested my nerves as it was a single track road hugging the mountainside with very few passing places, hairpin bends and nearly sheer drops, incredible beautiful though and luckily few other cars! Aldea the starting point for our walk was rather run down and depressing with hundreds of acres being given over to banana growing under plastic. Once out on the track though the hike followed the coast through amazing vegetation with stunning cliff scenery.
We took the longer but quicker route back along the coast stopping at Port Morgan for refreshments, we nearly didn't stop as the tourist development was pretty grim but at the actual port the development was pleasant and their was a mix of traditional fishing boats alongside fancy yachts. Some extras today if you are interested.
