Life in Newburgh on Ythan

Hoarding

We enjoyed an overnight visit from two of the third generation Talpids. Eilidh spent the morning struggling to complete a fiendish frog puzzle that over the years has foxed her dad and his sister, to say nothing of his parents!

They also rummaged through a large box of foreign coins that we have brought home over the years as spare cash. Among them they found the tiny advertising medallion shown as an "extra". It commemorates the coronation in 1902 of Edward VII and his wife Queen Alexandra. The Royal couple appear on the front while on the back there are two hemispheres of the World labelled British Empire and the following words; Barratt and Co's Sweets Are Pure. Another example of Mrs T's family being the most accomplished of hoarders.
