A Collector of Oddities

Golden

Recently we have been getting golden syrup in the handy squeezy bottle. Much less mess and easier to control the dose too. However, they didn't have any last time we needed some so we got the tin instead. I may never get the lid back off again but it is so much more attractive. The gold and green tin (we'll pass over the strange logo which comes from a Biblical tale of a swarm of bees making honey in the carcass of a lion) with its glossy contents is a thing of beauty. And I was also pleased to note it contains 907g.

Apparently it is Britain's oldest brand although it is now owned by American Sugar Refining Inc.
