This is not London!

The British railway system was absolutely appauling today.  The good lady and I were supposed to have stayed overnight in London yesterday, including a trip to The Shard and dinner at a Michelin starred restaurant.  Not to be - thanks to the young lad's unexpected hospital stay.  We tried to make the most of the situation and meet our friends for a birthday lunch.  However, the train we had taken from Warwick Parkway decides to stop at Biscter. Everybody off.  No staff to tell us what is going on.  Lunch cancelled.  Train in opposite direction from London to Banbury.  Another train from Banbury to Leamington.  Lunch in Leamington.  Then another train back to Warwick Parkway. When we asked for our train fare to be refunded (very politely, through gritted teeth), the computer system wasn't working!
