An auspicious day

The 23rd January is an auspicious day for weddings in Pondicherry and the flower market was very busy fulfilling orders for tomorrow. The flower sellers were very happy and would call us over to take a photo, they loved to see themselves in the photo.
It is lovely to be by the seaside, at 6 o'clock each day the sea road is closed and only walking is allowed so lots of people out strolling.
Pondicherry itself is an entirely different city; ruled by the French for 300 years it has a Mediterranean feel to it with lots of well maintained French colonial buildings and a grid system of streets.
