Birding at Abbotsbury

I managed to make it to Yeovil this morning despite the traffic problems and this afternoon the bird group had an amble at Abbotsbury where it was beautiful and very mild despite the frosty start to the day (see extra) .

We were looking for  'Richards Pipit' - apparently two had been seen in the fields behind the Swannery earlier today. There was another serious birder looking but we weren't lucky. I had no idea that there were so many types of pipit`:)
However, we did see a kingfisher through the monocular and mistle- thrushes as well as a red-wing.
