A Writer's Life

"return to school"

A thought for my professor and student friends today. Classes are supposed to start again today, after 6 months of strike. The new law means that, even though thousands of students are still on strike, they are supposed to go back to school and face hefty fines and possible failure if they decide to respect strike votes. Professors have the same problem: they have to teach, regardless of the situation in the classroom, and face fines (and possibly more) if they decide to respect strike votes. This is not the education system I know and love.

So, a thought for them, this morning, as they face it all with all the humanity, intelligence, and wisdom they have shown since the beginning of this. I hope they stand as tall as that tiny bird.
