Blanket Fog

MONDAY

I set off to work  at 7:30 am this morning in freezing fog. It was a real pea-souper with visibility down to a couple of hundred metres.  As I drove over the "tops" between Halifax and Huddersfield I emerged from the fog into brilliant sunshine.

This is the view from Fixby looking over Huddersfield towards Castle Hill. Jubilee Tower can just be made out in the distance beyond the big tree.

The whole of the town was engulfed in a blanket of fog. I nipped out on a couple of site visits first thing and the air temperature was minus 2 degrees C.
