Two…………………..

………….….of a Kind

It is hard to believe these actually turn into magnificent caterpillars.

These two very very tiny Monarch Butterfly caterpillars have only just emerged from their eggs.

By using an extension tube with my 35 mm lens and then using the magnification function, I could clearly see this event unfolding - nature providing yet another magical show!

Extra Photos - the stages from Egg to Caterpillar.
1 - Mature egg. Dark top is the head of the caterpillar
2 - Starting to break through the shell
3 - Head emerges from shell
4 - Breaking free
5 - Almost free
6 - Totally free
7 - Eating empty egg shell

Thanks to jensphotos for hosting Tiny Tuesday.

You will see I have turned comments on again, but I am apologising in advance as my commenting will continue to be limited. Stars and hearts will be sprinkled as usual.

Thank you to everyone who visited yesterday’s blip and an even bigger thank you to those who were kind enough to leave stars and hearts. The flower is a Cape Daisy known as Terracotta.
