Cumbria Here I Come

Tree of the Year

Thought it was about time I went to see this famous tree which was crowned England's Tree of the Year last month by the Woodland Trust who ran a competition asking people to vote for their favourite tree.  A lot of you will recognise it I'm sure.  Its known as the Sycamore Gap tree on Hadrian's Wall in Northumberland.

We did a circular walk in the freezing cold wind, the first part was up and down hill and the second part was flat and muddy.  Got back to the car and it was -2c.
