Thunderstruck

This is our daughter-in-law, Teresa, and younger grandson, Beck, staring in amazement at the black cloud that is racing towards us.
A trip just along the coast today to a beach where there is a little restaurant. I stayed in the shade (because of my recent shingles) while the rest all swam and played in the sea for a while, and then we ate our lunch. Mid afternoon we had a tremendous storm, and a terrific wind which lasted for just a short time. Teresa is just watching in amazement as the cloud hurtles towards us. About 15 of us "foreigners" sheltered in the cooking and BBQ area of the restaurant while the storm blew. That section is open on three sides, but at least there was a bit of a shelter. A rather hairy drive back in our chariot with the children, followed by our son and daughter-in-law on their scooter.
We ventured out for dinner a bit later, sitting right on the beach, opposite a restaurant. Suddenly, it was pitch dark, as all the electricity on our side of the island went off. We then had fun trying to eat our meal by a bit of candle-light, and worse still was paying for the meal and then walking back to our bungalows with only the light from one mobile phone to guide us on our way.
The weather seems so be skew-wiff all over the world at the moment. The rainy season here which usually stops around November / December seems to be just continuing.
I'm back-blipping this on Friday 27th Jan, as the electricity and wifi have been rather intermittent over the last few days
