Devon Photography Holiday Day 2

A brighter start to the day - hopeful!

Beautiful morning on the beach for breakfast at 8am. Back to the cottage, showered and sorted for 10am to be back on the beach for our day of accompanied photography shooting. Sweltering hot morning where we started with a theory retake and then walked to the furthest point of Beer beach, towards the pier.

The hours flew past and before we knew it, it was 12 pm and time for a drink. Up to the Anchor and no less than 10 minutes in the pub, it was torrential rain outside! We looked over the images from the morning so far and some really cracking shots. Competition worthy from everyone around the table.

We decided to get in the car and head to Seaton another little village, but this one is considerably bigger than Beer. A coffee in Costa and we were all set again. Aimed with the cameras and waterproofs, we walked towards the beach. The beach in Seaton isn't really as interesting as the one in Beer, but we did like the multicolored, pastel beach huts along the promenade. Some very interesting shots as the reflections were working in our favour!

A few other areas to take some photos in the rain and then back to Beer, hot chocolate in the Anchor and then back onto the other side of the beach for more detailed shots. The area we were in is notorious for spotting crabs and crustacea, so lots of looking in pools of water, but no luck. Heavens opened again and we headed back. Got some interesting shots of holiday makers on the beach with umbrellas, fun juxtaposition!

Headed home to thaw and dry out, then met back up for dinner and chat. A cheeky Vimto cocktail, bottle of rose between us and baileys to finish, this is how all Stephanie Summers Photography courses finish!

When we left the pub just after 11pm, it was such a beautiful and clear night, that we though we would try star trails. Got some good results, but needed a bit longer to keep the exposure open for longer. The beer goggles and tiredness started to kick in! Will redo them one clear evening next week or when were in Scotland.

Great second day, really enjoyable in all ways, and great to build new friendships!
