Decay and renew

It has been a bitterly cold day today, so much so that I dashed out, grabbed the pictures I wanted and returned straight to the sanctuary of the house. It's not that I get to escape the cold, I still have a significant quota of dog walks to complete by the end of the day. I've been put on two long jaunts already and look like Mitchellin man with the number of layers of clothes. But hey. Could be much worse I could have to go to work in it!
This picture is of the hanging baskets located either side of the front door. It reminded me that before too long the remnants of last year's flowers will soon be replaced with bright new blooms.
