Kite Surfer, Sandymount Strand

After leaving my wife at the airport I took the Port Tunnel route home and on a whim decided to take the wean out along Pigeon House Road and along the Sandymount Strand side. We noticed the tiny raised eyebrow of a kite-surfer about a hundred yards ahead, floating over the road. And of course he wanted to run onto the beach, and of course splash for joy and get wet. I told him to take his trousers off so I could keep them dry for him, but in the end it was all for nothing. The huge, smeary, slate grey rain-kite was arching over the city, approaching fast, and when it collapsed over us it was like a burst roof. We were totally soaked before we reached the car, only 2 minutes away.
