Crummock Water and the Buttermere Hills

A short stay in Cumbria gave an opportunity to revisit with the camera the Lorton Valley, where we lived for 20-odd years. Our viewpoint was the field gate at Foulsyke, always a favourite view for the upper valley.
The day was sunny in the north-west with clouds in the south-east. Going left up Newlands Hause (the Cumbrian word for a Pass) we stopped to scramble around the rocks at the foot of Moss Force. 'Force' is the Cumbrian word for a waterfall (from the Norse 'foss') - seen as the Extra photo.
