Girls day out

Today we visited the Nepenthe Vineyard as part of the Adelaide Hills Annual Crush Festival. The location was sensational, set under umbrellas on a huge lawn surrounded by vines and gum trees. Live music was the free entertainment. Various types of food were available.

My photo shows some of the many beautiful young women in attendance. I think they had hired a limo as I heard them saying they were doing a tour from winery to winery. What a lifestyle - when you are young.

Nepenthe may not yet be a household name for wines in other parts of Australia.  This 25 hectare Balhannah vineyard is located on rolling hills mid-way between Balhannah and the historic town of Hanhdorf, with spectacular views of the Mount Lofty ranges.

Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir are the largest planting, each occupying 33% each. Chardonnay and Pinot Gris each occupy 17% of the vineyard. It was such an enjoyable experience we will be back, maybe even taking some visiting blippers with us!
