apples are apples...

... but apparently not always the case as the local market had trays of 'Pink Lady' apples with three different fruit label stickers.
The Pink Lady apple, more correctly known as Cripps Pink was developed by John Cripps here in WA from Golden Delicious and Lady Williams parents.

The labels, also known as PLUs (price look up labels) tell exactly how the fruit has been grow.
The pink lady heart is a symbol of authenticity and quality while the numbers tell a whole different story.
Four digit numbers are conventionally grown produce, five digit labels beginning with 9 are organically grown and five digit numbers beginning with 8 genetically engineered.

...and then there is 'wax`on, wax off' but that is for another blip!
