Between fen and mountains

Catkins

I spent the morning at Citizens Advice and this afternoon I am delivering a repaired eighteenth century longcase.  It has a rope drive and I have been waiting for a new rope for two months.  There is none of this specialist rope in the country and there is a problem with the supplier so rather than keep the customer waiting any longer, I will install the clock and fit the rope later.  I am following the news with interest but find it all rather alarming.  I feel we are living in increasingly unstable times. I know that the solution for the moment is to live in the day and be grateful for small things like these lovely catkins.
