Migrant in Moscow

Morning Hue

We had some beautiful light for about 20 minutes after sunrise in Moscow this morning ('sunrise' being a relatively relaxed 8.30-event as the moment).  We've had a paucity of light recently and most of the past week has been a grey soup of blurred contrasts (from a blipper's point of view!). I don't know what creates the brownish/ golden hue but I think it may be a combination of morning sunlight (a deep yellow in this part of winter) and steam rising over the city, from traffic and a nearby hot water plant.
This, incidentally, is the old Red October Chocolate Factory, which ran until 2007, before being closed down and re-imagined as a complex of arty stores and other 'spaces'.  I can remember times when the wind blew in a certain direction and carried the scent of chocolate over the river.
