Room for a little one?

Well, actually it wasn’t that little, and there was hardly any room.

In our wanderings through Addo Elephant National Park this morning, we came across this female family group. There was an obvious matriarch with her offspring and then presumably the other females were her close relatives with their offspring. They were gathered round a very small water hole (there were much bigger ones elsewhere) and the little ones could hardly get a look in, never mind a trunk in to suck up the water. We sat and watched this group for a long time – one of the great joys of Addo. It got quite exciting when a young male approached the group – he got his comeuppance very sharply and he sidled away.

Extras
1     Zebra – I love them.
2     Zebras, Warthogs and one Red Hartebeest – all waiting to get to a waterhole, which had been commandeered by a male elephant group. As one elephant wandered off, as seen here, the others inched a little further in
3     But these were not for moving in a while – methinks!

We moved on and left them to it.

We love Addo and have visited every time we have been to South Africa.  This time we thought we would give it a miss. Then we succumbed and hence our two days away from Plett - we are both so glad we did it. No matter how many times we go, we never tire of it.
