Glaswegian Escapade!! - Day 1

Gallery of Modern Art, Glasgow

It's been a long day so I'll keep it brief-ish!

- Left Bristol airport in thick fog, arrived Glasgow at lunchtime in the sunshine, though it soon disappeared. A cold day but dry.
- Dropped bags at hotel, a stone's throw from George Square and literally just round the corner from the Gallery of Modern Art.
- Admired the many statues of George Square, including that of Robbie Burns.
- Popped into the City Chambers to gaze at the mosaic ceilings and marble staircase.
- Quick visit to the Gallery of Modern Art and the statue of the Duke of Wellington, complete with his traffic cone hat!
- A wander along Buchanan Street
- Afternoon tea at the Rennie Mackintosh inspired Willow Tea Rooms.
- Glasgow Royal Concert Hall for the Danny Kyle Open Stage performance, a chance for new musical talent to perform as part of the Celtic Connections festival.
- Got caught up in an anti-Trump demonstration and march that ended up at George Square
- Quick change at the hotel
- Italian meal out
- Collapse!
