Tribute to a hostage

Each time I walk into Durham University via The Law School, I pass this sculpture of a contorted body. Before blipping it, I decided to research its significance.
I discovered that the University has invested quite a lot of money in public art installations such as this one, for the enjoyment of visitors and to encourage students to take an active interest in art.
This particular sculpture is by Fenwick Lawson and is intended to highlight the brutality that the Lebanon hostages were subjected to. Its chosen location is to remind Law students that law is all about preserving freedom!
This seems particularly poignant at the moment.
