Oil's Well That Ends Well

Filippo Berio was born in Italy in 1829. He later moved to the rich olive growing area around Lucca where in the early 1850s he set up his company producing and selling olive oil.

He formed a partnership with businessman Giovanni Silvestrini who helped to build the business up. When Filippo died in 1894 his daughter, Albertina, carried on the business with Giovanni.
