Brussels - the capital of comics

Comic books are a big thing in Brussels. Not only is it a special museum for comic, but there are murals all over the centre and Laeken. These walls are now part of the comic book route. The city decided to paint the murals in 1993, and that it should be in streets that could invite tourist to walk in streets they normally would show little interest in in ignorance that the city has more to offer than the  La Grand Place. There are now 52 walls!

This is the  Ric Hochet Wall from 1994, designed by G. Oreopoulos and D. Vandergeerde. The hero  and journalist-detective Ric Hochet was created by Tibet (drawings) and André-Paul Duchâteau (scripts) in 1955 in the magazine Tintin.
