Flower Friday - Ranunculus

When I went into the plant room at Dunbar garden Centre after my morning coffee I was delighted to see that there was a bit more variety than the primulas and pansies which is all you get in the middle of the winter and that there was a table full of ranunculus. These are far easier to photograph as the flowers sit on high stems and the plant labels are well hidden. I took several shots using the same technique of using a wide open aperture to to focus of one of the blooms and letting the others diffuse and blur. This is fine but because there is such a range of colours including orange and white, the eye is easily distracted. The choice of a blip really came down to which contained a palette of reasonably complementary colours.
