Houndtor, the Village and Greator Rocks

Marian and I are both suffering from colds. She coughed a lot last night so I took myself off to the spare room. There's generally a better chance of a comfortable night if we're not disturbing each other. There's nothing worse than lying there, wanting to cough but not wanting to disturb your partner.

This morning we found it to be a lovely morning, as I had hoped so we set off for Houndtor to do a bit of a walk. The sun was lovely but it was quite chilly too as we climbed up to the avenue through the tor. My blip is from the lovely light on that part of the walk.

We carried on down to the medieval village which was abandoned in the 15th century. It's fascinating to wander round the remains of the buildings which were excavated in the 1960s. We carried on to Greator Rocks and returned to the car by a circuit to the west of Houndtor.

This afternoon the weather closed in and we've just had a tremendous rain and hail storm. There are some more here if you'd like to see them.
