Lindis Pass

We left Wanaka this morning and headed up towards Blenheim on the west coast. We travelled up the eastern side of the Southern Alps, through Central Otago and up and over the Lindis Pass at a height of 971metres. The countryside was gorgeous, quite stark and empty with lots of tussock grass and a few sheep.
The extra photos are of the Southern alps and Aoraki (Mt Cook) with snow on them - beautiful, the Lindis Pass and one of the tussock grass which so epitomises this part of NZ.

We are staying the night in a small rural town, Methven, in a beautiful old homestead before setting off tomorrow. V hot 32°C.
