Cowering at the thought

Black Angus cows grazed not far from us as we walked down to the lake.

I wondered how much longer until they end up on supermarket shelves which is what they are being fattened up for.

They seemed so peaceful that it made me feel the same once I momentarily pushed aside the thought of what their future held.

I really want to become a vegetarian in the near future.
