A Meandering Life...

Winston & Roger

Pol Roger to be more precise, Churchill's favourite Champagne by all accounts. The connection between the two was so strong that after the great storm of 1987 the Pol-Roger family paid for most of the trees to be replanted that had been lost at Chartwell.

This bust is on sale at Chartwell for £2800. A bottle of Pol Roger was somewhat less. We didn't venture further than the tea room* and stuck with a cream tea.

I'm pleased to announce Nook & Cranny are back where they belong but are keeping a low profile after yesterday's exploits... ;o)

Day 5 of my Mono Month Challenge (MMC17).

* We have visited Chartwell so many times so didn't see the need to explore beyond.
