The Untrained Eye

Oh how we've grown!

We stayed with my sister and brother in law on the edge of Birmingham and spent the day catching up on said city's development since we were children there.
In addition to visiting the new library ( very impressive ), the Art Gallery ( as I remember it as a student including Lucifer ) , Grand Central station ( Wow ), Brindley Place and the canal ( used to be a no go area) and the National Trust's splendid and informative and Grade 2 listed Back to Back House at Court 15 , Hurst Street which housed, in 1851, 60 people  in 11 tiny houses in appalling conditions. Well worth a visit!
Brother in law illustrates, by bumping his head, the average height of occupants considerable less than people today with average life expectancy circa 24 years!
