Hattie's pincushion.....

....or more commonly known as Astrantia.

According to James Edward Smith’s Exotic Botany of 1805, astrantias are “a favourite of the more refined admirers of Nature”. Pincushions of flowers surrounded by ruffs of greenish white bracts that are flushed pink, resembling tiny starbursts.

Lovely to wander through my garden, very quiet today with no wind, calm, peaceful and warm. Astrantia is like a little bouquet all of its own, gentle with its softer shades and form, taken with the lensbaby with +4 macro.

Yesterday's sunset was over in a flash but ever so beautiful.

Happy Monday everyone :)
