wandering albatross

Quite an experience to go out from Kaikoura into the deep water a couple of miles offshore, and within seconds to be surrounded by giant petrels and albatrosses. The adult wandering albatross on the left stayed with the boat until the chum (smelly greasy food for the seabirds) had run out, and didn't like it when the whiter adult on the right tried to muscle in. The other large bird is a northern royal albatross; Cape petrels on the left.
