The Summer Of The Slug

After the lovely weather yesterday it's back to rain.

I took the little camera with me on the daily dog walk and saw a brood of young swallows perched on a fence, their parents busily feeding them but I struggled to get a decent shot as the silly dog kept pulling on her lead.

During a dry spell this morning I headed into the garden to see what was occurring.

Slug City! They were everywhere. They have caused havoc with our new perennials and have munched their way through the last of the sweet peas. Hopefully these plants will recover next year.

I am officially declaring this The Summer Of The Slug.

Even more disgusting when viewed large.
