From My Window

With the porch roof in the way and a small view of the deck and vegetable garden.  I'm backblipping because last night was a late one.

The extra photo is one of the town moderator, Lee Nyquist.  Here in New Hampshire we have the opportunity to see and discuss what will be on the Town ballot for the coming year.  The overall proposed budget and any new purchases, buildings and equipment are open for approval or denial before the voting actually takes place in March.  I hadn't been to a deliberative meeting in probably 20 years, but there was a controversial topic (a new fire house) and a small crowd of dissenters.  Our fire department is strictly volunteer and they are also the EMTs (Emergency personnel) that arrive in the event of an emergency and there are no charges for their services.  Their current firehouse is far below the current codes for safety. The doors aren't large enough for the newest trucks.  The warrant article for a new fire house will be on the ballot and will take a 2/3 yes vote for approval.

Many thanks to KangaZu for taking over the themes for February.
