Mother love

A pukeko feeding a young juvenile - they were eating a dead long fin eel. I didn't know pukekos ate animals. They were certainly enjoying it. Extra shows the pair with the eel at the adult's feet.

Another extra is a little spider I found while gardening - if anyone knows what it is I'd appreciate knowing.

Last extra is the answer to yesterday's mystery shot - blue bubbles. It's a cornflower submerged in water, with the air bubbles collecting on the petals.
