Life in Newburgh on Ythan

Favonius

The fishing vessel Favonius was tied up in Peterhead harbour this morning. Built in the Macduff shipyard in 2007, she sports a splendid bulbous bow which dramatically reduces her fuel consumption.

Favonius, was one of the Roman wind gods, who held dominion over plants and flowers and is the equivalent of the Greek wind god Zephyrus.

The "extra" was taken in one of the streets around the harbour, Sky TV have a lot to answer for!
