Newhailes

While my car was in the garage having its dodgy emission software updated we took our courtesy car along to Newhailes, joining a multitude of dogwalkers.

While the snowdrops are only just beginning to flower, the birdlife was abundant, as, along with the usual magpie, crow, blackbird and blue tits we saw thrush, long-tailed tits, nuthatch, greater spotted woodpecker and possibly a goldcrest, all the while surrounded by woodland and field, under a blue sky with snow clouds sailing over in the keen wind.

All too soon we were summoned back to retrieve the car with its now-legal software, noting that we can return for the snowdrop walk on Saturday 18th.
