The Way We Were

I should have the Barbara Streisand track playing in the background at this point.
We had a rake out through some boxes of "stuff" and found heaps of half-forgotten memorabilia. Odd coins brought back from abroad; ancient photographs of sometimes anonymous people; one of my fathers golf trophies; a book of sketches by my mother and a cartoon by one of the Polish officers billeted in Duns during the war. There were, as here, a few old jigsaws in equally old sweet tins and this wonderful "Glucodin" tin.
Did we manage to throw anything out? Well, yes but it wouldn't have filled one carrier bag.
