Migrant in Moscow

Monumental and modernist

colonnade:  a row of evenly spaced columns supporting a roof, an entablature, or arches.

The Moscow City website describes the Palace of Youth at Fruzenskaya as "a typical example of modernist monumental Soviet architecture".  I've never been able to find a distinct entrance to this building and I read now that this was done deliberately, the architects endeavouring to emulate an ancient Greek temple and using the colonnade around the structure "to distribute flows around the building".  As ever in that era, the mosaics are beautifully done.
