A Grave Matter

Spotted this sad little grave stone in Denny Cemetary this evening. It sat all alone, flat against the damp soggy earth, overshadowed among the far bigger and far grander head stones, but it's grubby white sheen made it stand out among them all to me.

I always think that stone is an odd thing to mark the graves of loved ones with.

Stone, by its very nature, is hard, cold and unfeeling, when a head stone is actually filled with the love and emotion of the family left behind for the person who has left us all behind.

I like this little grave and I hope the family of Willie Martin and his father remember that it is here, hidden and waiting, among all the other memories.
