Artichoke

"I have bought you a rose", he said.
"Tis not a rose Sir. Tis a cabbage, wots dead."

Having looked it up, I've suddenly realised I have an artichoke plant in the garden. The above is a result of letting it go to seed and then leaving it in the garden for most of the winter!
