One feather missing?

White faced heron in flight, Avon/Heathcote estuary. Seems to have a feather missing on the left wing, though it wasn't making a difference in flight.

White fronted tern - extra ( didn't know which one to put up)

Saw MPI's Poacher patrol at the estuary today, never seen them before in the probably 1000s of times I've been down there. There were people taking shellfish, though it's very hard to understand why, with large signs warning that the water is contaminated and therefore the shellfish which concentrate the contaminants are dangerous to eat. Why would you?  The signs are in several languages too, and also have pictures. I guess some people just like to live on the edge..
