Mauvellously experimental

This chiffon cake is naturally colored with purple yam, or ube- it's a Philippine speciality, though mostly on the interwebs you see very purple cakes which are tinted with food colouring. It's a very Asian cake in flavour- lightly sweet, slightly coconutty and the sweet potato flavour also comes through, a little like pandan. Apparently it's served with a Philippine coconut preserve called Macapuno, but I think it would benefit from a drizzle of coconut cream and white chocolate ganache.
